We arrived in Graz at 10:30pm last night. So we checked into the hotel and retired for the night. Today we went to breakfast then headed to the center of Graz to see the sites. We toured around the old city and saw some landmarks, but the festival would not begin until the afternoon. We then went back to the hotel to change into our dirndls. We then headed back to the festival in the old city. We were able to see some of the opening ceremony but it had been lightly raining most of the day. We stopped in a beer tent to get out of the rain and wind and of course had a drink. When the rain stopped we went touring the city again. The festival gets into full swing tomorrow so some of the venues were not operational. We did see some of the land marks and about 4pm it started to pour. There was thunder and lightning and lots of rain. We were lucky because we were in the tourist info center. After an hour we pulled on our ponchos and asked where to eat dinner. We were directed to a great restaurant. I had a blood sausage strudel- sounds awful but tastes great. We all had a wonderful dinner and while we were eating the rain stopped so we set out sgain. We went to the main plaza where there was a lot of music and people. it was all great fun. We decided we would return to the festival when it opens at 10am and hopefully it will not rain. We take a train to Vienna after we leave the festival. I should mention it got cold. Tomorrow morning it is dupposed to be in the 50’s

Munich
We were up early to catch the train to Fuessen. Were had reservations to see Neuschwanstein Castle and Marsha and I went to see Hohenschwangau Castle since we had seen the “Disney” castle previously. The train ride is 2 hours from Munich to Fussen and the time at the castles about 2 hours. We had to catch the train back to Munich before it got too late. We had a few minutes at the hotel before we were off the the Ratskeller for dinner. Dinner was great, but too much. Some of the girls went on to the Hofbrauhaus, but I decided to return to the hotel.
In the morning after breakfast some of the girls went on a free walking tour and the rest of us went in our own tour in center city. We had a great time. When I can post pictures you will see the sites. We had left our luggage at the hotel so after we ate lunch at the Augustiner Restaurant (I had a dark beer) we went to the hotel to get our luggage and head for the train station for the train to Graz.
We are presently on the train and due to arrive at 10:30pm in Graz. Tomorrow is the “Aufsteirem” (a giant party) in Graz.
Lake Bled
Lake Bled continued
Lake Bled
For some reason I keep posting by accident so here is the continuation. Before dinner some of us decided to take the boat out to the church in the middle of the island. It is really a beautiful ride. The island is small so we saw everything in a short amount of time. We returned to the hotel where we had dinner.
Forgot to mention these crazy people wanted to wade in the lake. Only problem was it is very rocky and everyone had trouble walking on the stones
