Carcasonne

We will be in great shape at the end of this trip. Boarding a train with luggage, stairs everywhere and walking for miles. Carcasonne is known for its huge castle and pâté. Food has been great. Wine cheaper than Coke. There is a music festival in town. There are musicians playing everywhere and the place is jammed with people. It didn’t get dark until 10:30 last night.

Albi – June 20

Took the train to Albi. Touted the city & visited the cathedral and the beautiful garden. The Tarn river is very high and running fast. Returned to Toulouse in the late evening.

Toulouse

I finally made it to France. Brussels Airport is huge. I bought a day pass to the sky club and spent a long layover with a glass of wine, some cheese, and some olives. Flight delays because of thunderstorms. Marsha met me at the airport, we rode the bus into town and we checked into our hotel. Then we walked all over Toulouse. The river, Garonne, here is way above flood stage. We had a wonderful dinner. I finally had cassoulet! Also saw the candy van.
